Wang Temple in Karpacz is an extraordinary wooden evangelical church, whose history dates back to the 12th century. It was built in Norway, in the town of Vang, where its name comes from. In the 19th century, thanks to the efforts of the Prussian queen Frederick Wilhelmina, the church was dismantled and moved to Karpacz, where it serves the faithful to this day and attracts tourists from all over the world.
The building represents the unique style of Scandinavian stave churches, known as stavkirke. It is characterized by richly carved details, including Viking ornamental motifs, and a massive structure of wooden logs that are joined without the use of nails.
